Social Sustainability & Integrity Programme

Diversity & Inclusion Working Group

The D&I WG aims to discuss some of the challenges companies are facing integrating D&I into their strategies and operations, and to explore how D&I can be a source of competitive advantage.

Participation in the D&I WG provides opportunities to hear from and interact with prominent experts in this field, such as the Government Equalities Office, the Institute for Human Rights and Business and Activity Alliance. It is also a safe space where members can engage in frank conversations with their peers and speak openly about diversity and inclusion issues and how they are addressing them.

The D&I WG meets quarterly to discuss themes related to D&I policies and practices such as measuring D&I performance, recruitment and inclusive communications. It is currently at full capacity, and as such, we cannot accept any new members at this time. However, if you are a member of the UN Global Compact Network UK and are interested in joining the waiting list for this group, you are encouraged to express formal interest by emailing Karla at karla.drpic@unglobalcompact.org.uk.

Target Gender Equality

Target Gender Equality is a gender equality accelerator programme for participating companies of the UN Global Compact. This new Global Impact Initiative aims to mobilise 1000 companies by 2022 to set concrete targets and take ambitious action to advance women’s representation and leadership in business.

The initiative, coordinated by the UN Global Compact and run locally in 20 different countries, is a unique opportunity to:

  • Join a cross-sector network of professionals
  • Connect with peers, UN partners and experts to support your gender equality strategy
  • Learn how to confidently set and meet ambitious corporate targets for women’s representation and leadership in business
  • Exchange experiences and good practices with Target Gender Equality participants from other countries.

The programme will be running for 1 year and will include several activities: performance analysis, capacity building workshops, peer-to-peer learning opportunities and multi-stakeholder dialogue at the country-level.

For more details, visit our Target Gender Equality section. For further information, read our Brochure and Target Gender Equality FAQ.
