SME Climate Hub: Net Zero for Small Businesses
Tuesday, May 3rd 10:00-11:15 BST
In 2020, the UN Race to Zero campaign, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Exponential Roadmap Initiative, and the We Mean Business (WMB) coalition launched the ‘SME Climate Hub’ – a one-stop-shop climate action platform for small-medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
To highlight this valuable resource, the UN Global Compact Network UK and the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) are hosting an upcoming webinar, ‘SME Climate Hub: Net Zero for Small Businesses’ to discuss how SMEs can make their own net zero commitment and access practical resources and tools through the Hub. Participants will also hear from leaders in small businesses that are signed up to the commitment and already taking action to reach net zero.
This session builds on the focus of the webinar we hosted last year, ‘UK Small Businesses and the Race to Zero’, which can be accessed below.
17 June 2021, 10:00-11:00 BST
In support of the ‘Race to Zero’, this webinar, hosted by the UN Global Compact Network UK in partnership with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, will focus on small business (250 employees or less) involvement in climate action in the lead up to COP26. It aims to:
- Provide participants with insights into the potential implications of climate change and the UK's transition to net zero on their business;
- Improve participants understanding of the benefits that can be achieved by taking climate action;
- Raise awareness among participants of the tools and support available to help them reach emissions reduction targets.
