Inclusion and Occupational Safety & Health: New Approaches for Business
A four-part webinar series on inclusive approaches to occupational safety and health (OSH)
Companies and their workforces thrive when diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are considered in their occupational health and safety agendas. Health and wellbeing needs are not one size fits all. Rather, diversity within the workforce requires tailored support to ensure all workers are safe and happy. Businesses stand to gain by prioritising the differing health and wellbeing requirements of their employees, with higher levels of employee satisfaction leading to improved productivity, performance, and profitability.
The UN Global Compact Network UK organised a four-part webinar series on inclusive approaches to occupational safety and health (OSH). It supported businesses to level up their OSH agendas and seize the opportunity by emphasising the importance of DEI. The series built upon existing approaches to OSH and delve into issues relating to mental health, gender, and disabilities in the workplace. Participants developed a nuanced understanding of OSH through a DEI lens and gained the knowledge and practical tools to address gaps in existing OSH policies and programmes within business.
