Both Kenyan and UK companies are operating in a global business environment which is increasingly shaped by sustainability imperatives. The urgent need to address issues such as modern slavery, climate change, environmental degradation, and social inequalities has led to a paradigm shift where businesses are now expected to operate responsibly and sustainably. Legislation such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) reflects this shift, imposing stricter requirements on businesses to ensure responsible and sustainable practices throughout their supply chains.

In this context, the Social Sustainability Business Dialogues: Learning Exchanges Between Kenya and the UK will feature a series of targeted discussions on supply chain relationships, business competitiveness, and the role of business organisations. Organised by the UN Global Compact Networks from Kenya and the UK, these dialogues will equip businesses with knowledge and tools to help them navigate the complexities of the modern global market. Through meaningful discussions, collaborative learning, and exchange of best practices, the event series aspires to drive mutual growth and sustainability, reinforcing the bilateral ties between Kenya and the UK and emphasising the importance of socially sustainable business conduct.

* If you are a member of the UN Global Compact Network UK and are interested in participating in the Dialogues, please contact Cora Edwards, Senior Project Manager – Social Sustainability.
