Overview
Connect with local organisations and delve into the SDGs at our 2021 'Making Global Goals Local Business' Roadshow.

Since 2017, the UN Global Compact Network UK has travelled across the UK to connect sustainability practitioners, inspire action on the SDGs, and equip you with the knowledge and skills to effectively engage with Agenda 2030. This year is no different, with 7 city stops throughout October, to bring together hundreds of stakeholders to accelerate action on the SDGs. In the lead up to COP26, these events will allow you to dive into developing a whole systems approach to delivering the Global Goals and develop an understanding of how to lead action for Agenda 2030. Join your regional event to build collaborative networks with neighbouring businesses, local authorities, and civil society organisations in your area.

Key Takeaways
We will empower you to take the next steps in your sustainability journey, form long-lasting partnerships, catalyse change through your organization, and ignite innovation to build back better and create the future we want. Our aim is that the workshops will enable you to:

  • Connect with like-minded sustainability practitioners and professionals;
  • Develop a better understanding of the context of your organisation in relation to specific Goals;
  • Practice your influencing skills to engage others and build interest;
  • Learn from local peers and come away with tangible actions to help you on your SDG journey;
  • Renew your energy and passion for delivering the Goals.

Programme
Taking place over a half-day online event, the programme will feature a diverse range of inspirational talks, practical workshops, and networking opportunities. Developed in collaboration with Impact, our dynamic and insightful events will start by exploring the SDGs and the need for increased business ambition to deliver this agenda. We will then take a deep dive into the practical action that you can take to support the entire SDG Agenda through interactive breakout sessions focusing on themes such as integrating sustainability into your organisation, going Net Zero, engaging in the circular economy, sustainability reporting, implementing a Living Wage, and developing effective D&I strategies. A concluding panel will hear from local sustainability leaders and throughout the event there will be an opportunity for regional networking.
