SDG Flag Campaign 2026

A global movement working #TogetherForTheSDGs

About the SDG Awareness Campaign

In 2025, the UN Global Compact Network UK led a month-long campaign of storytelling and digital engagement to raise awareness of the SDGs, share practical examples of business leadership, and celebrate achievements that inspire further action. Organisations across the UK participated by sharing their sustainability accomplishments and the actions they are taking to advance the SDGs.

The campaign culminated on Thursday, 25 September 2025, with SDG Flag Day, marking the anniversary of the adoption of the SDGs. More than 650 SDG flags were raised across the UK by businesses, charities, civil society organisations, and schools. In addition, many organisations participated digitally, showcasing their sustainability achievements and amplifying the campaign’s reach online.

Our Executive Director, Steve Kenzie, explain the importance of SDG Flag Day, thanks to some help from the Smiley Movement.

About the SDG Flag Day

The SDG Flag Day campaign began in the Netherlands in 2020 and has since grown to include hundreds of businesses, government departments, civil society organisations, and schools raising the SDG Flag every September to mark the adoption of the SDGs and demonstrate their support. The UN Global Compact Network UK will be participating for the fifth consecutive year in 2026, once again inviting organisations to raise the flag for the SDGs.

More information about the 2026 campaign will be announced soon.
