SDG Flag Campaign 2025

A global movement working #TogetherForTheSDGs

Join our SDG Awareness Campaign!

This year marks two important milestones for the global sustainability movement: the twenty-fifth anniversary of the United Nations Global Compact and the tenth anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These anniversaries present a strategic moment to reflect on the progress achieved, recognise the pivotal role of responsible business in driving sustainable development, and renew our collective commitment to embedding sustainability at the core of business strategy for long-term impact.

The UN Global Compact Network UK will lead a month-long campaign of storytelling and digital engagement to raise awareness of the SDGs, share practical examples of business leadership, and celebrate achievements that inspire further action. We invite organisations to participate by sharing their sustainability accomplishments over the past 10 years and the actions they are taking to advance the SDGs. The campaign will culminate on Thursday, 25 September 2025 with the SDG Flag Day, marking the anniversary of the adoption of the SDGs.

Our Executive Director, Steve Kenzie, explain the importance of SDG Flag Day, thanks to some help from the Smiley Movement.

SDG Flag Day - Thursday, 25th September 2025

The SDG Flag Day campaign began in the Netherlands in 2020 and has since grown to include hundreds of businesses, government departments, civil society organisations, and schools raising the SDG Flag every September to mark the adoption of the SDGs and demonstrate their support. The UN Global Compact Network UK will be participating for the fourth consecutive year, once again inviting organisations to raise the flag for the SDGs.
