Sustainable Finance Collaboration Lab & SDG Hive Session

Global Ethical Finance Initiative Annual Summit 2024

As part of the Sustainable Finance Collaboration Lab programme, UN Global Compact Network UK has partnered with the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the Global Ethical Finance Initiative (GEFI) to deliver an SDG Hive session at Ethical Finance Global 2024 in Edinburgh. There is an imperative and opportunity to achieve SDG progress through finance and to strengthen the resilience of the financial system to global shocks in an increasingly connected world. In this session, we will explore how partnerships are a key driver of ambition and innovation to solve globally linked challenges.

The session will take place on 26th September and will bring together finance experts, along with corporate, policy, and third-sector actors to discuss the role of partnerships to drive and scale-up finance to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. A panel of industry leaders  from across the finance value chain will discuss how partnerships are powering innovative solutions, raising ambition, and contributing to a favourable investment climate for sustainable development.

Attendees will draw inspiration from the panel discussion and participate in an interactive workshop to contribute cross-sector perspectives to sustainable finance challenges, and discuss opportunities for partnerships that could present solutions, such as scaling up innovative finance tools, advocating for policy changes, and reducing risk associated with impact projects, especially in emerging economies and sectors most in need of access to capital.
