Policy Feedback Meeting:
The UK Government’s Consultation on ‘Modernising Corporate Reporting’

Tuesday 3 November 2026 | 14:00 to 15:30 GMT | Online, via Zoom

The UK Government is proposing the most significant changes to corporate reporting in a generation. The Modernising Corporate Reporting consultation could narrow reporting to what is financially material to investors and creditors, and remove explicit disclosure requirements on anti-corruption, environment, human rights, and employees.

These changes could reduce reporting requirements for many businesses. They could also affect what companies invest in, and how they communicate their impact to employees, supply chain partners, and communities.

As we prepare our response to the consultation, we want to hear from you. This session will help us understand where members agree and differ, and those insights will inform the UN Global Compact Network UK’s position

What to expect

Join fellow members for a moderated virtual roundtable, where you’ll be able to:

  • Share your views on the key proposals, including the strategic report and the stated purpose and audience of corporate reporting
  • Hear how peers across sectors are approaching the consultation
  • Raise any other areas of concern, from thresholds and exemptions to remuneration reporting and digitalisation

Registrants will receive a short briefing on the proposals before the session. Afterwards, we’ll share the key takeaways with participants and keep you updated as our response develops.

Who should attend?

Representatives from member businesses of all sizes and sectors. The proposals cover anti-corruption, sustainability, human rights, and employee matters, so we welcome input whatever your area of expertise.
