Black Lives Matter & Business: Changing Corporate Culture
The six webinars are aimed at starting an honest conversation about practical steps businesses can take to be actively anti-racist and advocate for the rights of Black people. The agenda for the series was developed with help from UN Global Compact Network UK’s Diversity & Inclusion Working Group. This webinar series was generously supported by the NatWest Group, enabling these important conversations to take place. For more information about this, please click here.
Background
The UN Global Compact Network UK is committed to promoting anti-racism and ensuring that the human rights of the Black community are respected and upheld through sustained action on Principles 1, 2, and 6 of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The historic discrimination against Black people in the workplace and the under-representation of Black people in positions of authority make this issue area a top priority for corporate action. To this end, we are calling upon all UN Global Compact Participants and Signatories to embed anti-racism into their behaviours, practices, and policies. For more information on the corporate responsibility to eliminate all forms of racism, please visit the Anti-Racist Action for Business guide on the website of the UN Global Compact.
