Engaging in Corporate Climate Advocacy: Disclosing to Stakeholders

This series will provide practical guidance on how companies can engage in effective, science-based climate advocacy to contribute towards driving the regulatory outcomes needed to deliver on their net zero goals. Discussions will focus on the principles and governance mechanisms that companies should implement to ensure the integrity and alignment of their advocacy strategies with the objectives of the Paris Agreement, the role that third-party associations can play in advancing (or undermining) a company’s advocacy efforts, the various mechanisms through which businesses can influence climate-related policymaking in the UK, and how businesses should disclose their climate lobbying activities to avoid reputational and litigation risk.
