Global Goals Roadshow 2020
Our Global Goals Roadshow offers attendees the opportunity to delve into the SDGs and explore opportunities to take action within their organisations, whilst connecting and interacting with others.
Since 2017, the UN Global Compact Network UK has travelled across the UK visiting up to 13 cities a year. The 2020 Roadshow kicked off in February with a successful visit to Stoke-on-Trent. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the situation worsened, our plans for face-to-face events were put on hold. Recognising the importance of the interactions that take place at the Roadshow and the value they have in advancing the Global Goals, we transitioned the programme online whilst keeping the sessions engaging and interactive.
The aim of the sessions remained the same - to help participants understand how to take their organisation's engagement with the SDGs to the next level and develop the skills to do so. Many of the sessions were developed in collaboration with Impact who built on the 2019 programme to create a series of even more dynamic and insightful events for this year’s series.
Throughout, the Roadshow participants had the opportunity to:
- Learn about the tools and resources available to start engaging with the Goals;
- Hear real business examples from our members who shared insights and tips for organisations to ‘Getting Started’ on their sustainability journey;
- Take a deep dive into specific Goals;
- Explore the interconnected relationship of the SDGs and develop a better understanding of the context of their organisation in relation to specific Goals;
- Explore the steps of the SDG Compass;
- Develop skills to engage others, and learn how to have useful conversations and build influence;
- Meet and connect with sustainability professionals;
- Share Global Goals ideas and stories, learn from their peers, and come away with tangible actions to help them on their SDG journey.
